Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be shown live on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "break" his opponent as the pair met personally to build hype for the upcoming bout.
Ex twice world title holder Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami arena on 19 December.
Boxer's Mentality
"I will damage his features and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I'm going to seriously aim to hurt him. That's my intention."
Civil Exchange
In spite of such comments, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - normally recognized for his showmanship - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.
Paul rather criticized former Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "not serious" after Ngannou declined a match opportunity.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Joshua, at the same time, took aim at UK rival Tyson Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua said.
"I acknowledge that."
Legitimate Opponent
Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Joshua refused to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.
Paul's History
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or faded names since turning professional.
He was defeated by Briton Fury in last year.
Commercial Attraction
However, the relative newcomer remains one of boxing's greatest financial successes, consistently making huge financial rewards.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28 year old predicted a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would stop the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.
"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul stated.
Physical Disparity
As both boxers engaged in the usual stare-down, with their size difference on show, it highlighted just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is actually going ahead.
